Three Kids Killed In A Crash With Fuel Tanker; Teenage Girl Died A Day Before Her 18th Birthday
Jack Pink, 19, and his sisters Marina, 17, and Destiny, 15, were killed instantly in the three-car crash on the Newell Highway near Boggabilla in northern NSW on Monday.
The teenagers’ mother Jaze Pink has posted a heart-warming message over Facebook urging Marina to ‘party with your brother and sister’ and ‘drink with the gods’ on her birthday.
Mrs Pink’s dedication to her daughter labels her as ‘bossy’ but ‘perfect in every way’.
‘Today is my baby’s born day! She is 18 Please go buy Marina Pink a drink in every GOOD bar of every town in every city,’ the mother wrote.
‘Marina my darling as bossy as hell! Party with your brother and sister drink with the gods poppa max and prickly pink and all of our loves.’
Marina was travelling in the same car as her 15-year-old sister, Destiny (left), behind the truck driven by her brother Jack, 19 (right). All three were killed in the crash
The devastated mother described the moment her baby girl was born
‘We were taken very casually to the room…We were there for not even an hour when Glenn called the midwife ”it’s coming”.
‘She checked very casually then called ‘MARY THE BABY IS COMING NOW’.
‘Here she came fast as fast her feet never touched the sides of the womb. Welcome to the world little one.’
The proud mother went on to explain her birthday girl was also her number one helper, exercise buddy and bossy big sister.
‘I could never stop talking about you and I never will,’ she said.
‘I miss you more than words could ever say keep your brother and sister in line, give uncle a super big kiss then punch him cause he is so lucky to have you.’
Jack’s girlfriend Monica Watkins also took to Facebook to pay tribute to him, and revealed that her last words to him were: ‘I love you so much, goodnight and drive safe tomorrow.’
‘To the love of my Jack Pink,’ she wrote. ‘Thank you so much for all of our amazing memories, thank you so much for constantly loving me.
‘Thank you for giving me the chance to love you and spoil you.
‘I will never ever forget the last time I seen you at the airport when you were going home and you kissed me and gave me the biggest hug and just smiled at each other. I won’t ever forget you.’
She added: ‘You were such a beautiful person inside and out, and you were always there for me, so don’t stop being here for me now.’
The teenagers were travelling in a convoy, their father Glenn was in front – and heard the deadly crash which claimed the three young lives.
Boggabilla Rural Fire Brigade member Garry Roberts found Mr Pink collapsed on the road next to the fiery wreckage.
‘We saw a man lying in the middle of the road when he arrived but we came straight to the burning vehicles,’ Mr Roberts said.
‘We learnt later it was the father of the people in the cars.’
The vehicles burst into flames after the crash and the cabin was torn off. A petrol tanker also involved in the fiery pile up.
Surprisingly, the fuel tanker driver survived with only lacerations to his face after he was thrown from the vehicle.
A GoFundMe page launched for the Pink family, who are said to be ‘crushed’ by the tragedy.
‘What they do is everything for the kids. To lose 1 would be crazy. [The fact they] lost 3 in 1 split second is just out of this world,’ the page said.
‘They are great people and their sacrificial love for their kids knows no bounds. This is a crushing blow to this tight knit family.’
