On Tuesday night, style queen Rihanna put the vintage check back on the radar.
The singer steeped out in New York City, wearing Burberry’s iconic Noughties print in a £2,220 outfit, a matching baseball cap and coat in the infamous camel-coloured design.
As she paraded around the Big Apple which showed off her flawless figure without a bra in a sideboob baring LBD to bring the look bang up to date.
Scintillating: Rihanna convinced fashion fans that the Burberry vintage check is firmly back on the radar as she stepped out in New York City on Tuesday night in a top to toe look by the British fashion house
The singer draped the Vintage Check Soft-touch Plastic Single-breasted Coat, retailing at £1,895 in the UK, off her shoulders to show off her slender frame.
Beneath her antique-coloured baseball cap, which is a £230 accessory, she wore her hair in braids and she offset the bold print with clashing red Argyle socks, which are £95.
She worn out just one month of Burberry showcasing the look on the SS18 catwalk in London’s Clerkenwell, Rihanna’s look was hot off the catwalk.
British fashion house Burberry, helmed by CEO Christopher Bailey, reclaimed the check print in September 2017.

Bring it all back: Burberry reclaimed the vintage check, which was first made famous in the Noughties, in September 2017 on the catwalk
Showcasing the distinctive print alongside Irish tartans, Argyle and Shetland knits, Savile Roy military uniforms, the collection revisited one of its most-famous time periods.
Fans at the time included Spice Girl Victoria Beckham – who went on to become an international fashion designer – and the Kardashian-Jenners, before the set of six siblings and their momager became household names with Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
But the check print lost some of its high end appeal went it was favoured by a wider social set, including the likes of troubled British soap star Danniella Westbrook.
Soon knock-off Burberry check was being sold on items like baseball caps and scarves for as little as 99p across the UK.
Who’s that girl? During her time in the Spice Girls (here in Cardiff, in 2000), Victoria Beckham – who has gone on to become an international fashion designer – was already displaying her flare for fashion in this matching Burberry bikini and Rambo-style headband
Brit-centric: British soap star Danniella Westbrook committed to the look in this now-famous image of Burberry overkill from 2002. Toting her daughter Jo in top-to-toe Burberry, along with a push chair in all the same checks, Danniella wore a matching handbag and skirt in an example of the clientele Burberry would rather forget
Popular choice: This pre-fame picture of one of America’s most famous families, the Jenner-Kardashians (pictured left to right, Kris Jenner, Kendall Jenner and Khloe Kardashian and Rob Kardashian), shows that the look was loved by all age groups in the Noughties
Back in 2014, the brand got its image, when the shows became a staple for models like Cara Delevingne and Suki Waterhouse, The Beckhams’ teenage son Romeo made his modelling debut with the brand.
Now, widely considered to have gone from ‘chav to chic’, Burberry is being favoured by fashion’s younger generation, including Jude Law’s model daughter Iris and Liam Gallagher’s son Lennon – who both attended the September 2017 show.
Rihanna was flaunting her fashion clout on Instagram earlier that day in a bright blue ruffled dress.

Rihanna knew just how to style herself.
The 29-year-old teamed the fairytale gown with the perfect accessories – stylish black sunglasses, simple white pumps and a whole lot of attitude.
The result was the perfect contrast between sweetness and style, and showed just why Rihanna is a favourite of designers and fashion magazines alike.
